The "El Austriaco" restaurant traces its roots back to the year 1986, when it opened as a family restaurant along the shores of the Llanquihue Lake, with a view of the Osorno Volcano, under the name of "Canta Frog" restaurant. Like a remote Austrian corner, in a cove of Puerto Varas, it spent 14 years attending to its neighbors in the zone, tourists and summer visitors, among which they were a great number of viñamarinos, who convinced us to set up in their city, Vina del Mar.

In the year 2000 the opportunity presented itself to inaugurate, in Vina del Mar, the "Rincón austriaco", which as of December 2006 changed its location and name to "El Austriaco".
9 fruitful years in Vina del Mar have since passed, where we encountered a warm welcome from those that followed our course and still visit us regularly as well as many newcomers.

We pride ourselves on a varied international cuisine with a central European touch and we distinguish ourselves with dishes like: Don Antonio Red Deer, Goulach with spätzle, Pernil roasted with chucrut, Mozart Trout, and on the sweet side of our menu you can find Apfelstrudel, Salzburger Nocken, Palatschinken Gündel and Sacher cake, amongst others.
Chef and owner, Dieter Pammer, engineer by profession, makes use of formulas and exact calculations for the ingredients of the recipes and by doing so captivates the palates of the even the most demanding visitors.
